Minimally Invasive Hip Replacement

My Hip
I am a great fan of the blockbuster "Terminator" with Arnold Schwarzenegger. I am fascinated by the idea of artificial intelligence taking over the control of the world. But I would not have been expected to replace some parts of my skeleton with artificial components. But it's true. I am recovering from a minimal invasive total hip replacement on both sides. The picture on the left is taken shortly after the surgery.

Hip replacement surgery is a procedure in which a doctor surgically removes a painful hip joint with arthritis and replaces it with an artificial joint often made from metal and plastic components. During any hip replacement surgery, the damaged bone is cut and removed, along with some soft tissues. In minimally invasive surgery, a smaller surgical incision is used and fewer muscles around the hip are cut or detached. The procedure should relieve a painful hip joint, making walking easier.
